Whilst not weighted, the chess pieces have been crafted following the traditional Staunton style and retain a fantastic level of detail.
The bases of the Staunton style chessmen are magnetic and felted, which allows for them to stick down to the board for use on a train, car or plane journey. The felt bases protect the gorgeous, matt-lacquered surface of the board from any scuffs or scratches. Overall this is a chess set with a very special, versatile feel to it.
